Ralph Joseph Griffin Sr.

Ralph Joseph Griffin, Sr., age 85, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023at 5:30 p.m. He was a native of Lockport and resident of Raceland, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with following in Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport, LA.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Danos Griffin; son, Ralph J. Griffin, Jr. and wife, Odette; daughter, Cindy Griffin McCoy and husband, Craig; grandchildren, Camille, Royce, and Rachel Griffin; and great-grandchildren, Auden and Landon.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Alex “King” and Bridgette Vedros Griffin; brothers, Ivy Doucet and wife, Louabel, Milton Doucet and wife, Isabel, and Bobby Sevin and wife, Ruth; and sister, Earline D. Chappel and husband, Paul.

Ralph always met a friend no matter where he travelled. The community was family. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and was an avid sports fan, geaux Tigers! He was an inspiration to everyone that encountered him, his smile and light will be missed.
