Perry James Chighizola

Perry “Honey” James Chighizola, Sr., 86, a native and resident of Grand Isle entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 13th, 2025

 Mr. Perry is survived by his loving wife of 58 years: Emma “Babe” Cheramie Chighizola, children: P.J. and John; grandchildren: Hayden (Anna), Chance, Taylor (George), Alyssa; and sister: Vera Chighizola.

 Mr. Chighizola was preceded in death by his daughter: Peggy Sue Chighizola; parents: Hansel and Mazie Guidry Chighizola; grandparents: Zilda Melanie Chighizola and Alcide Urban Chighizola, Jr and Barbe Bradberry and Cyriaque Guidry; mother and father in laws: Webb Sr. and Margie Cheramie

 Mr. Perry was a proud Coast Guard veteran, a master at reel repair and rod wrapping who loved to sit on his downstairs swing watching the hummingbird and spending time with his family. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, dancing, computer work, and was a hardworking man all his life. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, especially his family and friends.

 Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church in Grand Isle on January 24th, 2025 from 9:30 am until service time. Mr. Perry’s Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 am with procession following to his burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
