Percy Lee Matherne, 84, a native of Bayou Gauche and resident of Raceland, passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Mathews, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Raceland.
He is survived by his son, Dean Lee Matherne and wife, Roxanne; daughters, Paula Schouest and husband, Milton, Penny Savoie and husband, Brian, and April Detiveaux and husband, Eddie; grandchildren, Jacob, Dean Jr., Levy, Jardy, Amos, Amber, and Jade; great-grandchildren, Kylar, Hayden, and Ryder; brothers, Ned and Luther Matherne; and sisters, Jeannette Henry and Marjorie Sampite.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Verlie Plaisance Matherne; and parents, Kliner and Hattie Matherne.
Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
