Penny Dufrene Zeringue

Penny D. Zeringue, 60, a native of Mathews and resident of Raceland passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church on Saturday, October 14th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Penny is survived by her children, Nicole Zeringue, and Bart (Linsey) Zeringue; grandchildren, Leila (Hunter) Orgeron, Demi Orgeron, Adley Zeringue, and Ace Zeringue; siblings, Roland Dufrene, Jr., Patrick (Beth) Dufrene, Rose Detillier, Wendy (Eddie) Brunet, Jude (Annie) Dufrene, and Bill (Adele) Dufrene; numerous nieces and nephews.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Roland and Theresa Dufrene.

Penny was a devoted Christian. She loved life and enjoyed watching her kids grow up. She was an immensely proud Meme that made sure EVERYONE knew how wonderful her grandkids are. She loved her grandkids dearly and enjoyed every minute. She fought brain cancer and many other ailments over the years but never let it stop her. She enjoyed dancing and just being around people. Penny never met a stranger. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and everyone that loved her.
