Paul J. Brunet, 86, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Raceland, died at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland, with Mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Luquette Brunet; four sons, Melvin Brunet, Dennis Taylor, Tony Brunet and Dennis Brunet; five daughters, Jackie Taylor, Harriet Green, Janice Brunet, Connie Barbier and April Brunet; 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ocelia Theriot Brunet; his parents, Camille and Lorena Dupre Brunet; one son, Wayne Taylor; one daughter, Jeanine Taylor LeBlanc; one grandson, Seth Aucoin; one brother, Wilfred Brunet; and five sisters, Cecile Bonvillain, Lena Neal, Sylvia Brunet, Eta Neal and Naise Theriot.
He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church and a retired employee of Mobil Oil Corporation.
