O.P. "Olida Paul" Hebert Sr., 94, a native of Choctaw and resident of Raceland, died at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland, with burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.
He is survived by five daughters, Barbara Hebert Griffin, Elaine Hebert Moore, Jackie Hebert Gaubert and husband, Burton, Gretchen Hebert Verdon and husband, Ronnie, and Patsy Hebert Breaux and husband, Byron; and 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Deroche Hebert; his parents, Olivian and Helen Hebert; one son, O.J. Hebert Jr.; two sons-in-law, Huey Griffin Sr. and John W. Moore; one daughter, Kathy Hebert; four brothers, Elvis, Nobby, Hadley Sr. and Adam Hebert; three sisters, Olive Hebert Gros, Clarice Hebert LeBlanc and Irene Hebert; two grandchildren, Huey Griffin Jr. and Kelly Plaisance Cheramie; and one great-grandchild, Chase Foret.
He was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church. He was a member of WOW and Weekend Cruisers.
