Norby "Poppy" Lasseigne

Norby “Poppy” A. Lasseigne, 83, a native and resident of Galliano passed away on Saturday, April 20th, 2024.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on his birthday Thursday, April 25, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano from 9:00 am until service time. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am with procession following to his burial in Cheramie cemetery.

Mr. Norby is survived by his loving wife of 63 years: Marlene “Lin” Hebert Lasseigne; children: Rachel Lasseigne and Maureen Cheramie (Curtis “Chop”); grandchildren: Blake Leger (Siobhan), Phillip Leger, David Leger (Grace), Bryce Cheramie, Brooke “Princess” Hunter (Rage); great grandchildren: Samuel, Clayton, and James Leger; and siblings: Arsen Lasseigne Jr., Mryna Blanchard, and Johnny Lasseigne.

Mr. Lasseigne was preceded in death by his daughter: Jill Lasseigne; parents: Arsen Sr. and Cisca L. Lasseigne; siblings: Alex Lasseigne, Augustine Martin, Nolan Lasseigne, Wilbert Lasseigne, Ivy Lasseigne, Gloria Lasseigne.

Poppy loved fishing, trapping, shrimping, eating sweets, and being with his family. He could play any instrument by ear, loved telling jokes, and dancing with Mrs. Marlene.
