Nerby J. "Pookie" Collins

Nerby J. “Pookie” Collins, 71, a native of Golden Meadow, LA and a resident of Galliano, LA, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Golden Meadow, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie C. Collins; son, Shannon Collins; daughters, Dawn Folse (Richard) and Torri Collins-Cannon (Daniel); grandchildren Talon Collins, James Turner, Riley Folse, Jackson Folse and Everett Cannon; great grandson, Lucas Turner and sister, Mona Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Austreda Anselmi Collins and brother, Ronald Collins.
Pookie was a member of the Lion’s Club, an avid golfer, a member of Tidelands Golf Club. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. He loved to hunt and fish and was a big fan of SCC Comets football, LSU and the Saints.
