Nelwyn Gassen Matherne, 60, a native of Luling, LA and a resident of Boutte, LA, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm on Friday, June 2, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Luling, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm.
She is survived by her companion, Russell Folse; son, Richard Matherne Jr. (Melinda); daughter, Rychel Daniels (Jesse); grandchildren, Bryce Daniels, Calleigh Matherne, Emma Daniels and Isabella “Izzy” Matherne; brother, Michael Gassen and sisters, Phyllis “Fi” Ferraro and Cindy Street.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Catherne Fields Gassen.
Nelwyn was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
