Nancy Rome Dowouis, 74, a native and resident of Des Allemands, LA, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, LA and from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, June 10, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Paradis, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, LA.
She is survived by her husband, Roland “Ronnie” Dowouis; sons, Darren Dowouis (Rhonda) and Stewart Dowouis (Kate); daughter, Kimberly Gemperli (Manuel); grandchildren, Alyssa Dowouis (Luke), Jordan Dowouis (Taylor), Thurman Dowouis and Lynott Gemperli; brother, Clifford Rome and sister, Mavis Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chefter and Myrtle Fonseca Rome; brothers, Norman Rome and Herbert “Bucky” Rome and sister, Beatrice Reulet.
Nancy was a member of St. Gertrude Ladies Altar Society. She was Granny Catfish Queen, Krewe of Des Allemands Queen and she enjoyed playing pokeno.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
