Murphy "Moose" Gisclair

Murphy “Moose” Gisclair, 82, a native of Galliano and resident of Houma, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Galliano, on Tuesday, January 26th at 11am with burial to follow in Cheramie Cemetery.

Murphy is survived by his brothers, Melvin A. Gisclair (Susan) and Mark P. Gisclair (Stacey); nieces and nephews, Tanner Gisclair, Casey Lichenstein, and Dustin Gisclair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorris and Clarabell Gisclair.

Despite physical challenges, he always lived life to the fullest. He was a public servant for the Lafourche Parish Sherriff’s Office for 40 years, as a deputy tax collector. Moose was an avid fisherman. He won multiple awards with his boat the “Bull Moose”.
