Murphy J. Cortez, 92, a native of Des Allemands and a resident of Paradis, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Paradis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling, LA.
He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Benoit, Susie Candies (Calvin), Melinda Fahrig (Robert), Linda Ayo and Rachel Molinere (Terry); 17 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchilderen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mittie Stevens Cortez; parents, Albert and Malvina Cortez; 1 grandchild and 2 great grandchildren.
Falgout Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
