Mittie S. Cortez, 88, a native of Bayou Sale and a resident of Paradis passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013.
Visitation will be from 8:30 AM until 11:30 AM, Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Paradis, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling, LA.
She is survived by her husband Murphy Cortez; daughters, Bonnie Benoit, Susie Candies, Melinda Fahrig, Linda Ayo, Rachel Molinere; 18 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her; parents Wallace Stevens, Sr. and Cecile Moore Stevens; brothers, Arnold Stevens, Wallace Stevens, Jr.; sisters, Wilamina Broussard, Helen Stevens, Emily Breaux, Faye Brunner, Ella Boudreaux; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
