Milton "Papa Duke" Anthony Dufrene, 88, a native of Gheens and resident of Gray, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 at his home.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time today at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. today at the church, with burial at Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery in Lockport.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Norma Orgeron Dufrene; one son, Calvin Dufrene and wife, Betty Jane; one daughter, Ramona Matherne and husband, Donald; one sister, Eula Plaisance; and six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Laticia Dufrene; one daughter, Marina Marie Dufrene; four brothers, Clarence, Lawrence, Nacy, and Norrie Dufrene; and five sisters, Lorita Sampey, Ency Fonseca, Eunice Orgeron, Vernus Dufrene and Leota Bye.
