Miller J. Crochet, 91, a native of Montegut and resident of Chauvin, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lois Chauvin Crochet; sons, Glenn Crochet and wife, Patricia, Eric Crochet, and Randall Crochet and wife, Judith; daughter, Carolyn C. Portier and husband, Ted; daughter-in-law, April Crochet Glenn; stepchildren, Ivy Hebert Jr. and wife, Shirley, Robert Hebert and wife, Marlene, Errol Hebert and wife, Janet, and Evelyn LeBoeuf and companion, Leroy; sisters, Regina Oliver and husband, Sam, and Lucille DeRoche; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 37 years, Lois Hebert Crochet; son, Timothy Lee Crochet; stepson, Kenneth Hebert; parents, Evence J. and Lorenza Ledet Crochet; brothers, John, Elmore, and Leo Crochet; and sisters, Doris Peltier, Bessie Falgout, and Enolia Rogers.
