Mildred Cheramie Pitre

Mildred Eve Cheramie Pitre, affectionately called Millie, a lifelong resident of Golden Meadow, left this earth for her eternal reward with the Lord, on January 31, 2025. 

She is survived by her son, Jed and daughter-in-law, Robbin, two granddaughters, Andree’ Pitre Long (Brian) and Emilee Pitre Guidry (Taylor), great grandchildren Brayson Long, Henry Guidry, Heidi Guidry, and Mackenzie Long, and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Millie was preceded by her husband Easton J Pitre, her parents, Telemaque, Sr. (Marco) Cheramie and Mabel Guilbeau Cheramie, baby sister, Sally, brother, Telemaque (T J), Jr., great granddaughter Haylee Guidry, paternal grandparents, Bruger Sr., and Lucia Callais Cheramie and maternal grandparents Frank and Leocadie Bourg Eserman Guilbeau.

 As an elementary school teacher, Millie served in the Golden Meadow schools for 30 years, and upon retirement became an active member of the Lafourche Parish Retired Teachers and the Louisiana Retired Teachers Associations.

 For 22 years Millie was an active CCD teacher for her church parish, and remained forever loyal to her church of Our Lady of Prompt Succor.

 Millie was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, serving as a board member for 24 years (1988-2011.) Throughout her life she belonged to many professional, church and community organizations. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed sports of all kinds, LSU in particular, and traveled extensively with her husband throughout all 50 states and abroad, visiting 15 countries.

 A visitation and funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Golden Meadow on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. A visitation for relatives and friends will be from 9-11 AM with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Bishop Charles P. Greco Foundation are preferred. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
