Mildred Gisclair Cheramie, 81, a resident of Galliano, died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
She is survived by her son, Rickey Cheramie and wife, Cheryl; two daughters, Linda Cheramie and Phyllis Cheramie; two grandchildren, Tara Lala and husband, Jason, and Rene' Comeaux and wife, Kim; and two great-grandchildren, Dominick Lala and Jonathan Lala.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin "Fox" Cheramie; parents, Dominick and Laura Prejean Gisclair; three brothers, Lorris, Henry, and Melvin Gisclair; and three sisters, Lorena Charpentier, Henrietta Billiot and Rita Billiot.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a member of St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society, and founding member of the Krewe of Nerieds.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
