Michael "Mitch" Terrebonne, 81, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, passed away Dec. 28, 2012.
Visitation will occur from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Homes in Galliano and from 9 a.m. till service time Monday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial following in Hebert Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Delphine P. Terrebonne; son Michael J. Terrebonne; daughter Linda Hebert and husband Randy; granddaughter Randi L. Hebert and companion Jack Norville; great-granddaughter Karah Michelle Robert Norville; brother Julian Terrebonne and wife Joyce; sister Nancy Danos; step-grandchildren Cecilia Bolijck and husband Brett, Jason Cressonie and wife Stacey, Solphie Hebert and husband Pattrick, and Angel Behma and husband Derrek; 14 step-great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Diddia and Clonise C. Terrebonne; brothers Diddia Jr., Eddie, Lorris "Ben" and Elica Terrebonne; sisters Josephine Terrebonne and Leonise Cheramie; brother-in-law Davis Cheramie; sister-in-law Hazel Terrebonne; and daughter-in-law Kathleen Van Dyke Terrebonne.
Mr. Terrebonne loved being with family and friends, especially his only great-grandaughter Karah. He also loved gardening and riding on his power chair to visit neighbors.
The family would like to thank Lady of the Sea Home Health Hospice and the hospital for all their help and support.
