Merlin "Mule Man" Savoie Sr., 67, a native and resident of Houma, died at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012.
Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel. Religious services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.
He is survived by his companion of 26 years, Sue Farrell; son, Merlin Jr. and wife, Jill Savoie; stepson, Garrett Farrell and wife, Crystal; daughters, Tina Voisin and husband, Terry, and Christina Savoie; stepdaughter, Danielle Underwood and husband, Michael; four brothers, Nelson, Sterling, Murphy, and Paul Savoie; and five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur A. and Beatrice Bourg Savoie; brother, Arthur Savoie Jr.; and sister, Nellie Theriot.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
