Melvin “T-Co” Matherne Jr., 53, a native of Gheens and resident of Bayou Blue, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023.
T-Co is survived by his wife of 15 years, Pat Matherne; his children, Janele Matherne and Mason Matherne; step-daughter, Amber Rybiski (Patrick); grandchildren, Owen and Sawyer Bourgeois; mother, Sandra O. Matherne; brothers, Travis Matherne and Jason Matherne (Trich); sister, Tammy Ledet (David); niece, Makeyla Matherne and Godchildren, Samantha Ledet and Abram Ledet.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin “Coco” Matherne Sr. and step-son, Ryan Rybiski.
T-Co enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved listening to music and BBQing. He was employed with Lafourche Parish School Board. He created a special bond with the children throughout the school and his peers.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 8th at 12 noon at the Gheens Community Center.
To celebrated T-Co’s life and honor his love of LSU, you are encouraged to wear your best purple and gold attire.
