Melvin David Matherne Sr.

Melvin “Coco” Matherne, Sr., 71, a native of Gheens and a resident of Raceland, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Victory Life Church, Lockport, LA. Religious services will be at 11:00 am.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Olsen Matherne; sons, Melvin “Te-Co” Matherne (Pat), Travis Matherne and Jason Matherne (Tricia); daughter, Tammy Ledet (David); brothers, Harold “Judd” Matherne, Donald “Ducky” Matherne, Robert Matherne, Patrick Matherne, Autrey “Gene” Matherne; sisters, Patsy Wegner and Louella Rudolph; grandchildren, Janele, Mason, Samantha, Abram and Makayla and great grandchildren, Owen and Sawyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Eula Matherne; brothers, Allen “Namu” Matherne, Wesley Matherne and Harrington “Rat” Matherne and sisters, Sandra Matherne, Nancy Ogle and Bertha Rudolph.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
