Melvin "Pappy" Guidry

Melvin “Pappy” J. Guidry, 87, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano passed away on Sunday, May 26th, 2024.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano on Friday, May 31st, 2024 from 9:00 am until service time. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am with procession following to his burial in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Cemetery in Golden Meadow.

Mr. Melvin is survived by his children: Shane Guidry (Robin), JoMel Guidry Danos, Michelle Malgum (Danny), Michael Guidry (Jackie) and Tige Guidry (Dana); 26 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mr. Guidry was preceded in death by his loving wife: Joyce “Granny” Guidry; son: Lex Guidry (Charmaine); son-in-law, Scott J. Danos; grandson: Jacob Terrebonne; parents: Charles Oleus Guidry and Clemence T. Guidry; siblings: Ludvic Guidry, Georgette Guidroz, Nolan Guidry, Leno Guidry, Stanley Guidry, and CJ Guidry.

Pappy loved sports especially LSU and Saints football, hunting, feeding his chickens and ducks, spending time with his family and bourcheries.
