Melva D. Cressionie, 97, a native and resident of Gheens, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland and from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Gheens Presbyterian Church. Religious services will be at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Janet "Chee Chee" Breaux (Lynn), Kendrick Cressionie (Maxine), Joan Griffin (Harris); daughter-in-law, Sharon Cressionie; brother, Woodrow "Butch" Dufrene; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Cressionie; son, Billy Cressionie; parents, Walter and Lena Falgout Dufrene; brothers, Edison "Sonny" Dufrene, Robert "Bob" Dufrene, Eroy Dufrene and 1 grandchild.
Melva was a member of LVFC Club Gheens Chapter, Bible School Teacher, Elder and session clerk at Gheens Presbyterian Church and board member of Vacherie-Gheens Community Center.
Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
