Mary Mejia Townsley

Mary M. Townsley, 79, a native and resident of Golden Meadow passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023.

Visitation will be held at Christian Family Center on Thursday, June 29th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Dardar Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Craig Townsley, Ruth (Keith) Crosby, Michael (Raquel) Townsley, and Chad “C.J. “ (Andrea) Townsley; step-children, Patricia Evans, Mitchel “Buddy” Townsley, Clifford Townsley, Penny Crappell, Susan Townsley, and Wesley Townsley; 14 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Raleigh Dardar, Larry Dardar, David Mejia, and Kenneth Mejia; sisters, Dora Pugh, and Carrilene Sutherland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchel Townsley; parents, Astusio and Veronica Mejia; brother, Richard Mejia; sister, Debra Falgout.

She was a loving and devoted mother. Always helping anyone who needed, whether it being a place to live, or a ride to the store. She worked diligently for her tribe on trying to get federal recognition. She was always referred to as Granny to all who loved her.
