Mary Verret Halford, 77, a native and resident of Houma, died at 4:33 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Houma. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park.
She is survived by three sons, Roy Halford Jr. and wife, Tina, Wren "Buddy" Halford and Fred Foret; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Usie Verret and wife, Ediana, and Acklen Verret.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Halford Sr.; her parents, Julius Sr. and Nolia Dean Verret; one brother, Julius Verret Jr.; and one sister, Brunella V. Guillot.
She was a member of Over-Eaters Anonomous and United Houma Nation. She was a waitress at Pitt Grill, Tommy's Grill, Hansis Restaurant and Tom and Barb's Restaurant.
In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite civic charity are preferred.
