Marvin G. Davis, 70, a native of Greenwood, MS, former resident of Buras, LA and a resident of Raceland, LA, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023,
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, LA. Religious services will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Raceland, LA.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie M. Davis; son, Dustin “Tank” Davis; daughter, Amber O’Gwynn (J.D.); grandchildren, Madeline Gaudet, Ayden O’Gwynn, Jackson Davis, Adalyn O’Gwynn, Ashtyn O’Gwynn and Ainsley O’Gwynn; brothers, William Davis and Glenn Davis (Pam) and sister, Mary Jane Scanlan (Donald); sisters-in-law, Charlotte Davis, Liz Davis and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives he loved and who loved him very much..
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Roberta W. Davis and brothers, James Davis, Danny Davis and Jerry Davis and sister-in-law, Dolly Davis.
Marvin Davis was a humble man who led by example. He was a hero who shied from the spotlight. His ethical actions inspired all. We all knew Marvin did not hang the moon, but we equally realize he leveled it, he fixed it when it was damaged, and he polished it to ensure it will always shine bright on the darkest night. He loved his family with every fiber of his being and would do anything and everything to make them feel happy and loved. His grandkids were his pride and joy. They were the sparkle in his eyes and the love in his heart.
