Marjorie Bixler Logan was born on October 24, 1939, in Lilburn, Missouri and passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at home in Bayou Gauche, Louisiana.
She put her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of seven years old and never looked back as she endeavored to follow the Lord all the days of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Anna Bixler, and two of her brothers, Cordell Bixler and Gary Bixler.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Don R. Logan; sons, Jonathan Logan with wife Jenelle and David Logan with wife Becky; grandchildren, Hannah Logan, Dwight Logan with wife, Deajha; Abigail Logan, Rachel Allen with husband Brennen, Sarah Logan, Allison Logan, Alex Logan with wife Anna, Nicolas Logan and Natalie Logan; great-grandchildren Ella Logan and Leilani Logan, and brother, Harley Bixler, and much-loved nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Marjorie graduated from Canalou High School in Canalou, Missouri in 1957. She graduated from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri in 1961, then taught music education in public schools for three years.
Marjorie was very happily married to her loving husband, Don, for over 60 years. She faithfully ministered beside him as he served in different Christian ministry capacities, including 30 years as pastor of Broadmoor Assembly of God in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was renowned as a consummate mother to her sons and wonderful grandmother known as “Mammy” to her nine grandchildren.
She was an accomplished musician playing the piano from the age of eight for her Lord Jesus Christ. The CDs of her piano worship music are still in demand by those who were blessed by her ministry. The beauty inside her was also expressed in framed acrylic visual art hanging in the homes of many.
As a lifelong student of the Bible, she was blessed to travel 14 different times to Israel, the land of the Bible, directing 13 of those tours so others could also have that amazing experience.
Renowned for her down-home humor, “Mammy-isms,” practical godly wisdom, and infectious joy, she will be missed by all who were blessed to share time with her on this earth.
