Marie "GG" Robichaux Guidroz, 90, a native and resident of Raceland and former resident of Marrero before Hurricane Katrina, passed away peacefully at St. Anne Hospital at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2013, surrounded by loved ones, daughter, Judy Danos and husband, Connie; granddaughter, Kimberly, grandson, Shannon Danos, great-grandson, John Keeler Jr. and wife, Kristin and best friend, Elsie Couvillion.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time Friday at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Judy Danos and husband, Connie, Rosemary Bulmer and husband, Bob, Helen Percle and husband, Preston, and Nolan Guidroz Jr. and wife, Peggy; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Guidroz Sr.; parents, John and Madaline Robichaux; brother, John Robichaux Jr.; sister, Euna Robichaux; and granddaughter, Ronna Dupont Benson.
Marie was a member of American Legion Post No. 222 in Marrero and Post No. 349 in Raceland. She loved bingo, music, dancing and making everyone happy. She loved anyone she met. She was Raceland Manor's Mardi Gras Queen of 2013. She will be sadly missed by a host of family and friends.
