Marie "Claire" Doiron Bergeron, age 80, a native and resident of Houma, died on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at 10:23 p.m.
Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 10 p.m. on Thursday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma and from 8 AM until service time at the St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial to follow in St. Francis de Sales II cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Raymond "Skipper" Bergeron Jr. and wife Connie of Houma, four daughters, Vickey Bergeron Blanchard and husband Albert, Jan Bergeron Duplantis and husband Elwin, Laura Lee Bergeron Pontiff, Mona Bergeron Hebert and husband M.J. of Houma; two sisters, Carolyn Doiron Garrett of Houma and Beulah Ann Doiron Parr and husband Jim of New Iberia; seventeen grandchildren, Brad, Brandy, and Brittany Bergeron, Cliff Falgout, Andy Babin, Alisha Babin Crochet, Leah and Julie Ann Pontiff, Travis, Tyler, Dustin, Joshua, and Jeremy Hebert, Tiffany Scarborough, Talina Williams, Shanna Schaubhut, and Todd Duplantis; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 godchildren, Berna Luke and Kay Parr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave Doiron Jr. and Beulah Duplantis Doiron; former husband, Raymond Bergeron Sr.; sister, Imelda Doiron Hebert; godchild, Curtis "Bubba" Hebert Jr.; and brother-in-law, James Garrett Sr.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Ladies Altar Society, Legion of Mary, and she was a Eucharistic minister at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. She was a member of the West Houma Lions Club and she had received the Lion of the Month Award and the Lady of Sight Award from the Lions Eye Foundation. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She loved angels and the colors pink and purple. She prayed for everyone. She will be greatly missed by "All the hearts she touched!"
