Margaret B. Matherne

Margaret B. Matherne, 76, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Raceland and Chackbay passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021.

Visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland on Wednesday, March 31st from 9 :00 a.m. until 10 :30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church at 11 :00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Matherne (Timothy Bolden) and Jill Matherne (Brian Folse); sisters, Doris Besson, Helen Morvant (Melvin) and Pearl Doiron (Lloyd); sister-in-law, Bernice Bourgeois; grandchildren, Bethany Bourgeois (Gene Oxford) and Bailey Matherne; fur baby, Bella.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Matherne ; parents, Camille and Estelle Bourgeois ; brothers, Calvin Bourgeois, Sr. (Shirley), David Bourgeois (Rose Addine), Wilbert Bourgeois (Josephine) and Philip Bourgeois ; brother-in-law, Joe Besson ; sister, Ouida Mae Babin (Norman).

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Helen & Melvin Morvant, Tina Landry and Notre Dame Hospice.
