Marcella Jane Bourgeois, 80, a native of St. Charles Community and a resident of Raceland, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, June 2, 2017, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by first cousins, Linda B. Zeringue, Lloyd T. Bourgeois, Roland Herman Verret, Grace V. Foret, Joy C. Puckett and Alex Pennison; godchildren, Joey Foret, Joseph Danos, A.J. Pennison and Toni Hebert Breaux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Louise Hebert Bourgeois; grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
Marcella retired from Nicholls State University in 1991 after thirty-four years as a secretary. She was a Lector Eucharistic Minister and brought communion to the homebound for many years.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chester Boudreaux, Heather NP and staff of Thibodaux Healthcare and St. Joseph Hospice for their care.
In lieu of flowers Masses preferred.
