Malcolm Joseph Chauvin, 86, a native of Mathews, LA and a resident of Cut Off, LA, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, Mathews, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday at St. Hilary Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Raceland, LA.
He is survived by his sons, Larry Chauvin and wife Randy, Donald Chauvin and wife Sandra, Thomas Chauvin and wife Vickie, Gary Chauvin and wife Theresa, Kevin Chauvin and fiancé LeAnn Barron; daughters, Ramona Chauvin and husband Stephen Head, Phyllis Champagne and husband Gary; grandchildren, Chris, Mandi, Tiffanie, Matthew, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Drew, Travis, Derek, Joshua and Brandi; great grandchildren, Christopher, Brianna, Brooke, Taylor, Isabella, Abigail, Tristan, Harlee, Asher, Ava, Addisyn, Alivia, Amelia, Addyson, Miya, Zoie, Gage, Bennett, Emma, Kaleb and Jordan; godchild, Lora; brother, Henry Wilton Chauvin and sisters, Earline Arabie, Theresa Dufrene, Marylouise Walker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emelie Baudoin Chauvin; daughter, Victoria Chauvin; parents, William and Ursule B. Chauvin and brother, Zenon Chauvin.
He was a carpenter, worked in maintenance at Sako Nursing Home and was a maintenance supervisor at St. Anne Hospital. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and building and flying remote airplanes.
