Mae Aucoin Champagne

Mae Aucoin Champagne, native of Luling, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at the age of 92. 

She was the loving wife of the late Rene’ Champagne (of 71 years). She was the daughter of the late Eugene Aucoin and the late Marie (Kit) St. Amant, of Luling. The sister of Pearl Aucoin Bourgeois. Mae is survived by children Regina Champagne Labat (Ray), Rene’ J. “Rennie” Champagne (Terry) and Gay Champagne Prindle (Kenneth/Rody). She is survived by grandchildren, Ray Labat, III (Ashley) Rene’ Labat (Kourtney), Ramsey Rene’ Champagne (Mindi), Ryan Champagne (Ellie), Taylor Prindle Niggemann (Daniel), Jonathan Prindle (Kristen), and Sean Prindle. Also eight great granddaughters and one great grandson. A host of nieces, nephews.

Mae was a member of the St. Anthony Ladies Altar Society and The Golden Girls Group. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 265 Angus Drive, Luling, LA, on March 6, 2025. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until funeral mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be in St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling, LA. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Luling.

The family would like to thank the loving and caring nurses and care givers of Summerhouse/Ashton Living Center, especially Ms. Annie, Lalonda, Jennifer and Marisol. Also everyone from Hospice Specialists of Louisiana.
