Mabel Orgeron Richoux

Mabel Orgeron Richoux, 99, a native and resident of Valentine, died June 30, 2017.
Visitation will be held at Holy Savior Catholic Church on Monday, July 3, from 9:00 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the church starting at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Mabel is survived by her adopted daughter, Marlene M. Orgeron and sister, Dora O. Ledet.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon J. Orgeron and Emma Plaisance Orgeron; husband, Mark J. Richoux; brothers, Forest, Dudley, Eldon and Clarence Orgeron; sisters, Norma O. Gaspard, Clara O. Matherne, Lorina O. LeBlanc and Laura Orgeron.
She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and was a devoted Catholic. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing; which she shared with her family and friends. She opened her door to nieces, nephews and friends when they were in need. She was an amazing person with many talents of carpentry and yard seasonal decorations. She never met a stranger. She was loved and will be missed by many.
Special thanks to Journey Hospice, Allison Plaisance, Maria Prejean, Courtney Lee and Jene Decuir, who gave mom communion every Thursday.
