Luther C. Matherne, 86, a native and resident of Bayou Gauche, LA, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, LA. Religious services will be at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery, Bayou Gauche, LA.
He is survived by his wife, Sallie Matherne; sons, Kurry Matherne (Vicki), Kurt Matherne (Claire), Ken Matherne (Jessica), Kelly Matherne (Rhonda); daughter, Kimberly Mongrue; grandchildren, Kurry Jr., Cameron, Lyndsey, Matthew, Samantha, Alexis, Hannah, Kelly Jr., Tristen and Joshua; great grandchildren, Lauren, Emily and Myha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kliner and Hattie Matherne; brothers, Percy Matherne and Ned Matherne and sisters, Jeanette Henry and Marjorie Sampite’.
Luther enjoyed bass fishing and hunting and loved his family.
