Lula Mae Ledet Zeringue, a native and resident of Raceland, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the age of 100.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church on Monday, August 16th at 11:00 a.m. with a private burial to follow.
She is survived by her son, Craig (Lisa) Zeringue; daughters, Rochelle (Daniel) Bradley, Mona (Michael) Foret and Tammy Zeringue; grandchildren, Matthew Zeringue, Rhett Zeringue, Carrie McLemore, Matthew Waguespack, Angelle Waguespack, David Bradley, Jennifer Bradley, Niki Norton, Megan Foret and Alexis Barbera; 11 great-grandchildren. She was loved and survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thompson “Plump” Zeringue; parents, Annette and Alfred Ledet; brother, John “Bruce” Ledet; sisters, Carol Falgout and Myrtle Arcement.
Lula was devoted to her family and lived her life with strong faith, a positive attitude, humor and powerful love. She lived simply but inspired greatly. She shared her joy of life with all and will be greatly missed.
As her health declined over the past year, she was wonderfully cared for by her devoted caregivers. Special thanks to Toni Shepard, Angie Luke, Teri Stouff and the staff of Saint Joseph Hospice.
