Lula Roussel Foret, 86, of Raceland, quietly passed away at home on January 6, 2018 with her entire family at her side after a brief battle with cancer.
A Memorial service will be held at St. Mary Nativity Church on January 13, 2018 from 9:00 am until funeral time at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am.
She is survived by her children, Wayne Foret, Robin F. Soirez, Scott Foret, Jamie Foret, Mark Foret; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and her brother, Warren Roussel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillius Foret; parents, Reme Roussel, Jr. and Eula Roussel Rodriguez.
Affectionately known by her family and friends as Martha Stewart, she would greet everyone who came over with a big smile and a hug and offer them cake, cookies or pie, which was always on hand. Coffee flowed freely at this time of day which she insisted on serving to you. This gave her great pleasure. She just loved to entertain.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for the attention and kindness shown to our mother. The family would also like to thank our brother, Jamie, whose knowledge of medicine, and kind spirit, helped guide our mother and us through this very difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, our mother would like a contribution to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929 or www.stjude.org .
