Luke A. Cheramie, 99, a native and resident of Golden Meadow passed away on June 13, 2018. A visitation will take place at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 8:00 am until service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am with burial following in the Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be held at 9:30 in the Church.
Mr. Luke is survived by his children, Cynthia (Freddie) Guidroz, Elizabeth (Larry) Cheramie, Chris (Jim) Knobloch, and Mark (Debbie) Cheramie; grandchildren, Shawn Ramagos, Celeste Sanamo, Lauren Walker, James Knobloch, Emily Knobloch, Hugh Cheramie, Katelyn Punch, and 10 great grandchildren.
Mr. Cheramie was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Emily Bourgeois Cheramie; parents, Hugh and Lima Collins Cheramie, and sisters, Ora Lee Terrebonne, Ella Deramee, and Minta Collins.
He was known for his relentless work ethic and was very proud of his Army service in both WWII and Korea.
