Lucy Marcel Michel, 97, a native of Bayou Blue and a resident of Houma, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 9 PM on Sunday, February 18 at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma – a recitation of the Rosary and the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy will be said at 7 PM – and visitation will resume at 8:30 AM until service time on Monday, February 19 at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday at the church with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
She is survived by her 5 daughters, Diane Michel, Paulette Hutt (Chris), Lucy Thibodeaux (Jay), Deborah Soudelier (Carl), and Patricia Whatley (Mike); 3 sons, Paul Michel Jr. (Kay), Joseph "Joe" Michel (Joyce), Larry Michel; sister, Viola Dugas; brother, Henry Marcel; 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Michel Sr.; daughter, Betsy Michel; 2 sons, David Michel and Baby Michel; parents, Henry and Laura Marcel; 5 sisters, Suzanne Crochet, Louise Toups, Lizzie Authement, Bessie Hebert, and Lula Bourg.
