Lucius "L.J." Chauvin Jr., 77, native and resident of Houma, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Falgout Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Dupre Chauvin; two sons, Michael and wife, Janet Chauvin, and Scott and wife, Stacie Chauvin; three sisters, Shirley Burnet, Gertrude Byrd and Virginia Veezier; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucius Chauvin Sr. and Olivia Picou Chauvin; one son, Kevin Chauvin; and three sisters, Evella Chauvin, Genevieve Eschete and Ella Mae Champagne.
He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
