Lucille Waguespack Bernard, 91, a native and resident of Raceland, was entrusted to God's Loving Care on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 at Thibodaux Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Octave V. Bernard, Jr. and wife, Leah; brother, Richard Waguespack and wife, Edwina; nine grandchildren, Duane Bernard, Melanie B. LeBlanc, Todd Bernard, Jace Bernard, Cedric Bernard II., Angela B. Gautreaux, Christopher Bernard, Troy Bernard, and Melissa Bernard; and 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Octave V. Bernard Sr.; parents, Richard Waguespack and Theresa Champagne Waguespack; son, Cedric J. Bernard; daughter-in-law, Judy A. Bernard; brothers, August, Lawrence, Marcial, Leonce, and Valerie Waguespack; and sisters, Noelie W. Grabert, Eloise W. Hebert, and Olive W. Champagne.
Lucille was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Ladies Altar Society.
