Louis "Buck" Cheramie
June 30, 1939 — September 20, 2020
Louis A. “Buck” Cheramie, 81, a native of Delta Farms, former resident of Cut Off and resident of Lockport, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cut Off, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Janita Plaisance Cheramie; son, Wade A. Cheramie (Krystal); grandson, Justin Cheramie (Patra) and great grandchildren, Eli Cheramie, Emma Cheramie and godchildren, Patsy Comeaux and Kevin Pitre.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott M. Cheramie; parents, Louis and Edith A. Cheramie and sisters, Joyce C. Legendre.
Buck was a member of the Knights of Columbus Monsignor Carroll A. Badeaux Council. 4th degree Knights of Columbus Kermit Trahan Assembly 1878 of Raceland, former member Knights of Columbus 3150. He was a Special Olympics coach, worked with handicapped kids, Catholic Community Center, Perpetual Adoration, Cut Off Youth Center Fair, kitchen worker for the Cerebral Palsy Telethon and worked the Lockport Food Fair.
