Linus "T-Ka" Joseph Parfait Sr., 81, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Peter Jason Parfait and wife, Deborah, and Lynn "Lynnieboy" Richard Parfait and wife, Ida; daughter-in-law, Marion Fitch Parfait; three daughters, Carla and husband, Danny Solet, Paula and husband, Troy DeRouen, and Amanda Parfait; three brothers, Varnis and wife, Joyce, Cyrus and wife, Mildred, and John and wife, Virginia Parfait; four sisters, Marie Verdin, Josephine Billiot, Anna Mae Parfait and Sarah Foret; grandchildren, Christopher and companion, Cassandra Liner, Kimberly, Alicia, Elizabeth, Jason and companion, Melissa Baker, Lynn Jr., Angelle, Kameron, and Braeden Parfait, Candace Chauvin and husband, Craig, Dana, Sandy, and Danny Solet Jr., Kieran Derouen and Tabatha Matherne, and ste-granddaughter, Hope and husband, Jerry Boudreaux; great-grandchildren, Shane Hunter, Joseph Parfait, Matthew, Gavin, and Lindsey Eschete, Austin and Jade Toups, Kallie Liner, Jason-Michael, Nathan, Keme' and Kaylee Parfait, Aubrey and Colton Chauvin and two step-great-grandchildren, Sarah Bergeron and Jerry Boudreaux III; and numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Dean Parfait; parents, Joseph and Edna Trosclair Parfait; two sons, Linus Jr. and Kalan Wayne Parfait; great-grandson, Christopher James Parfait Jr.; and two sisters, Ernestine Parfait and Rita Verdin.
Mr. Parfait was a retired Tugboat Captain and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a member of Houma Nation and Our Lady of Good Voyage K of C.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sanuzi, 4th floor and CCU staff at Terrebonne General and Haydel Memorial Hospice, and staff at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. A special thanks to Dr. Kirk Dantin, Dr. Hayden Lafaye, Dr. Eric Engeron, Dr. David Pellegrin, Dr. Allen Vandor, Dr. Wayburn Hebert and Dr. Paul Gaudet for his care during his last days.
