Lindel P. Toups, Sr., 68, a native and resident of Gheens passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016.
Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Vacherie-Gheens Community Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Bourg Toups; son, Lindel Paul Toups, Jr.,: daughter, April MacMurtrie (Timothy); grandchildren, Dillon Toups, Chelsey Foret (Neal), Carley Triche, Trista Toups, Benn Toups; great grandchildren, Kaiya Toups, Mylie Foret, Chason Foret, Maiya Toups, Averie Meaux; brothers, Donovan, Cleary, Kearney, Dean, Reed, Randy "Joe", Lane Toups; sisters, Delores Foreman, Brenda Martinez, Connie Matherne and Cathy Durio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bessie D. Toups; brothers, Alvin, Tommy, Dale, Sandy Toups; sisters, Lois Walker, Wanda Toups and Shillie Sampey.
Lindel was Past President of the Vacherie-Gheens Community Center, member Knights of Columbus and served on the Lafourche Parish Council for 20 years.
