Lester J. Vedros, Sr., 85, a native of Lafourche Parish and a resident of Lockport, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Holy Savior Catholic Church, Lockport, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, L.J. Vedros (Charlene), Craig Vedros (Karen), Todd Vedros (Tami); daughter, Charlotte Parr; grandchildren, Jai, Angel, Jarred, Darren, Dusty, Kendall and Brittny; 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Vedros and sisters, Paulette Pitre and Geraldine Adams.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna P. Vedros; second wife, Irma P. Vedros; daughter, Lisa V. Jarreau (Joseph); son-in-law, John Parr; granddaughter, Chastity; parents, Horace and Bertha B. Vedros and brother, Chester Vedros.
Lester was a truck driver and worked in the oil field. He loved his camp and fishing was his life. He served in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Lockport American Legion.
