Leroy J. Ledet, 79, a native and resident of Lockport passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Holy Savior
Catholic Church, 612 Church St., Lockport, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy "Dot" Bourgeois Ledet; son, Dennis Ledet (Missy); daughter, Amy Ledet; brother, Stephen Ledet (Delta) and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Lelia LeBlanc Ledet; brother Robert "Bob" Ledet (Cathleen "Kate") and in-laws, Claude and Bridget Bourgeois.
Leroy served in the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from the Postal Service and also worked for the Town of Lockport.
He was a loving, kind, thoughtful and gentle man who loved life, He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and many friends. He especially enjoyed his mornings at the Lockport Senior Center playing cards and swapping stories. He and Dot were inseparable and enjoyed many adventures together.
