Leona Madere Walker, 83, a native of Hahnville and a resident of Luling, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, January 22, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Luling, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jerry J. Walker, Sr.; son, Jerry J. Walker, Jr. and wife April; daughter, Elizabeth Schmauss and husband Keith; grandchildren, Derek and Taylor Walker, David, Vicky, Mary, Clair, Emily and Autumn Schmauss and brother, Nolan "Pete" Madere.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emile Madere, Sr. and Rena Kinler Madere; brothers, Fred, Emile Jr., Robert "Bob", Harold, Eddie Madere and sister Evelyn Hart.
Leona was a member of the Ladies Altar Society of St. Anthony and past member of St. Vincent de Paul.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Anthony Catholic Church preferred.
