Leo P. Guidroz, Sr., 91, a native of Larose and resident of Jefferson passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 9th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Leo P. Guidroz, Jr. (Gayle); daughter, Jane G. Huxen (James); grandchildren, Melissa Guidroz, Amy Guidroz, Kristen Lawson, and Karly Masson; great-grandchildren, Neil, Gabriel, Myles, Madden, and Kyson; brother, Roland Guidroz.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Breaux Guidroz; daughter, Nancy Guidroz; parents, Clovis and Eleanore Guidroz; brothers, Melvin Guidroz, and Clovis “C.J.” Guidroz; sisters, Carolyn Breaux, Louella L. Livaccari, and Odile G. Pierce.
Leo served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He donated his time as a coach of youth football and baseball at Westwego Playground for many years. Leo and his family travelled all over the USA with their camper. Leo retired from Avondale Shipyards. He and Dolores loved Grand Isle where they had a camp for many years before buying a home and residing there permanently until the passing of Dolores.
