Leo Joseph Blanchard, 91, a native of Chauvin and resident of Houma, died at 11:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2011.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Holy Rosary Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Wayne Joseph Blanchard; three daughters, Charlene Christian, Yvonne Landry and Gail Bonvillain; one sister, Elsie Mae LeBlanc; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Dugas Blanchard; his parents, Walter Sr. and Agnes Authement Blanchard; one great-grandson, Dylan Trahan; two brothers, Junius and Walter Blanchard Jr.; and three sisters, Sue Cenac, Bessie Trosclair and Leola Chaisson.
He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
