Lena Josephine LeBlanc Gautreaux, 95, a native of Valentine and a resident of Lockport, Louisiana, gained her angel wings on Sunday, August 6, 2023.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Wednesday, August 9th 2023 at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church in Raceland, Louisiana from 9:00am until religious mass at 11:00am, with burial to follow at Holy Savior Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Ramona “Mona” Griffin (Lester), Robert “Bobby” Gautreaux, Randy Gautreaux (Carol), and Rebecca “Becky” Welker (Bill); Grandchildren, Aaron (Stephanie), Alissa, Robbie (Laci Jo), Toby (Trish), Todd, Samantha, Candy (Jacob), Randy Jr. (Amber), Seth (Christy), and Tia; Great-Grandchildren, Lainey (Darcie), Taylor, Brandon, Brandi Lynn (Kyla), Jake, Kai, Luke, Kiley (Ian), Kaiden, Alec, Blake, Katie, Kelsie, Asher, Zelda, and Zeppelin; Great-Great-Grandchildren, Kylee Rene’ and Owen.
Preceded in death by her husband, Louis “L.E.” Gautreaux; her parents, Henry LeBlanc Sr. and Julie “Elmire” Boudreaux LeBlanc; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis A and Helena Gautreaux; sister-in-law; Irene Landwehr (George); daughter-in-law, Norma Stevens Gautreaux; Grandson, Lester “Chippy” Griffin Jr.; Brothers, Richard LeBlanc (Rena), Norman LeBlanc (Mildred), Henry LeBlanc (Stella); sisters, Lea Chaisson (Norbert), Lillian Dufrene (Ferdinand), Lilly Orgeron (Rameaux), Sedonia Breaux (Elson), and Rita LeBlanc (twin sister).
She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens’ Center in Lockport. She was a member of the American Legion Post #83 Ladies’ Auxiliary, and a member of the K of C Council #3054 Ladies’ Auxiliary. She loved sitting outside in the sunshine and was always ready to play cards or a board game with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going on casino trips and loved following her favorite Elvis tribute artist, Brandon Bennett, for the past 22 years.
We would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of Journey Hospice (especially Bailey and Melinda). Her favorite saying was: “Y’all don’t know the danger”.
